Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Truss Designer to join our innovative construction and engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating precise truss designs that meet project specifications, safety standards, and client requirements. Your expertise will directly contribute to the successful execution of building projects by translating architectural and engineering concepts into accurate, buildable truss layouts using advanced CAD software.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to deliver high-quality structural solutions efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

- Develop detailed truss designs utilizing CAD software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, or Civil 3D, ensuring accuracy and compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and project managers to interpret design drawings and modify truss layouts as needed.
- Utilize project management tools to track design progress, revisions, and deadlines, ensuring timely delivery of drawings.
- Apply structural calculations and mathematical analysis using Mathcad or similar tools to verify load capacities and structural integrity.
- Review construction documents and blueprints created with Bluebeam or equivalent software to ensure clarity and correctness.




- Coordinate with manufacturing teams to facilitate seamless translation of designs into physical trusses in office.
- Maintain comprehensive records of design revisions, calculations, and project documentation for quality control and future reference.

Skills

- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam for drafting and design review purposes.
- Strong understanding of structural engineering principles related to truss systems and load calculations.
- Experience with project management practices to oversee multiple design tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to perform complex mathematical analyses using Mathcad or similar engineering calculation tools.
- Construction experience is highly desirable for understanding on-site requirements and practical constraints.
- Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail in creating accurate technical drawings.
- Familiarity with civil engineering standards, building codes, and safety regulations relevant to structural design.
