- Performs scheduled and urgent vehicle deep cleaning, and completes required documentation.
- Performs basic vehicle maintenance, such as headlight removal/installation, fluid top ups, door adjustments, and stretcher maintenance.
- Cleans garage floors.
- Performs warehouse duties, such as checking stock, replacing stock, stocking hospital supplies, receiving deliveries, filling orders, pharmacy pick up and other such duties as assigned.
- Delivers contaminated uniforms to cleaners, as required.
- Assists with movement of vehicles in both the city and district, as required.
- Delivers supplies to district stations, as required.
- Monitors sharps receptacles; secures and replaces as needed.
- Maintains CO2 monitors, and recalibrates and changes batteries as needed.
- Conducts O2 testing on devices, as required by legislation.
- Completes all required paperwork associated with duties.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned. Education/Experience - Successful completion of Secondary School (Grade 12) Education.



Skills/Abilities - Ability to effectively maintain equipment - Ability to perform standardized vehicle and equipment maintenance cleaning - Proven ability to function and contribute as an effective team member and to work independently - Self-starter with proven organizational and time management skills - Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing - Must be proficient in the use computers and current related software - Must possess and maintain a valid class “G” Ontario Driver’s License, or equivalent - Must meet the definition of a competent driver as defined by the corporation - Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Assets - Experience with warehouse operations - Experience/knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance - Previous experience with custodial/janitorial duties - Up to six (6) months experience in an EMS setting - Successful completion of the Emergency First responder Course PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position requires the ability to generate force (lifting/pushing/pulling) up to 50lbs on an occasional basis; ability to perform carrying up and down stairs; ability to tolerate repetitive shoulder movement on an occasional basis; ability to tolerate standing and walking on a frequent basis; ability to tolerate occasional twisting, bending, and crouching Occasional = up to 33% of working day; Frequent = 34-66% of working day; CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT - Working beyond normal working hours and out of town travel will be required from time to time.
