What is the opportunity?
Are you interested in working as a Communications & Engagement Coordinator on the Chief Legal and Administrative Officer (CLAO) Shared Services Team in the CLAO Group at the Royal Bank of Canada? RBC's Chief Legal and Administrative Group (CLAO Group) is a critical function within the organization. This group integrates legal, compliance, enterprise strategy, strategic execution of enterprise initiatives, as well as procurement and supplier management, and corporate real estate. In addition, CLAO oversees enterprise controls and data governance to ensure the organization operates ethically, efficiently, and in alignment with regulatory requirements. Our team is looking for a Communications & Engagement Coordinator who is constantly thinking outside the box, ready to dive deep into the smallest details, and is passionate about research, communications, content design, and driving successful program adoption!
What will you do?
- Communications and Content Delivery
- Act as consultant to managers in translating messages using the power of words, images, sounds and animation
- Identify positive news, such as latest CLAO Group stories; generate related internal and external publications
- Serve as coach to staff involved in any communication events or presentations
- Conduct final review and approval before internal or external communications are released
- Program Enablement and Engagement
- Coordinate the planning, development, and execution of engagement programs and initiatives across the CLAO Group
- Develop program materials, timelines, and communications to support staff adoption and understanding of new processes and systems
- Manage program schedules, milestones, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful delivery
- Track program metrics and engagement levels, providing updates to leadership on progress and outcomes
What do you need to succeed?
- Must-have
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
- Proven experience with social media and how to leverage with internal communications
- SharePoint experience and knowledge of HTML
- Video script development, filming and editing skills in Adobe Premiere
- Well-developed communication and presentation skills
- Capable of following strategic directions while adhering to brand standards, while also being a motivated self-starter who can manage timelines,
debate design philosophies and easily adapt to an ever-changing workflow
- Program coordination and project management capabilities, including experience managing timelines, stakeholders, and multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Nice-to-have
- Ability to learn and absorb new concepts (in business and in systems) quickly and apply new knowledge
- Proficient in Adobe and Microsoft software programs, including but not limited to Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc.
- Strong client-focus and responsiveness to business needsExperience with project management tools and platforms (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, Microsoft Project)
- Experience developing training materials or change management communications

Eligibility
This posting is for a 4-months Winter 2027 Student placement with a start date of January 2027, and end date of April 2027. In order to be eligible for this 4-months Student position, you must either: Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027; or if you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027),
you must require the full 4-months work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.
Location & Work Arrangements
The successful candidate for this role will be required to be located within Ontario for the duration of the work term. Details regarding the specific virtual, hybrid, and in-office arrangements for this Integrated Learning/ Co-op position are to be discussed with the Hiring Manager. RBC is committed to supporting flexible work arrangements when and where available.
