Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced 310T Truck & Coach Technician to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate is a skilled, safety-focused mechanic who understands the importance of production, reliability, preventative maintenance, and MTO compliance.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in doing the job right the first time, can diagnose problems efficiently, and understands that safe and properly maintained equipment is critical to our operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and servicing on trucks, coaches, and related equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and determine the most efficient repair solution.
- Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on production and equipment uptime.
- Perform inspections and repairs in accordance with applicable MTO requirements and Ontario safety standards.
- Understand and apply the fundamentals of MTO vehicle inspection requirements, including identifying and correcting safety-related defects.
- Maintain accurate maintenance and inspection records.
- Identify potential safety and mechanical issues before they become failures.
- Work safely and maintain a clean, organized, and professional shop environment.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and operations regarding equipment condition, repairs, and estimated completion times.
- Follow company safety procedures, manufacturer specifications, and established maintenance practices.
- Assist with preventative maintenance programs and contribute to improving fleet reliability.
What We're Looking For
- Valid 310T Truck and Coach Technician certification.
- Proven hands-on experience working on heavy trucks, coaches, buses, or similar commercial equipment.
- Solid understanding of MTO guidelines, safety standards, and commercial vehicle inspection requirements.
- Strong mechanical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to identify safety-critical defects and understand when equipment should not be placed back into service.
- Ability to work efficiently in a production-oriented environment without compromising safety or quality.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
- Reliable, punctual, and accountable.
- Able to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Valid driver's licence [Class DZ preferred/required, if applicable].
- Ability to prioritize multiple repairs and respond to changing maintenance requirements.
