Build Stronger Customer Partnerships with Qualitree

At Qualitree, great customer relationships are about more than taking orders. They’re built by understanding our customers’ businesses, anticipating what they need, bringing forward opportunities, and making it easy for them to succeed.

For more than 30 years, Qualitree has partnered with growers, retailers and garden centres across North America, earning our reputation through trusted relationships, quality products and exceptional service.

We’re looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of an established portfolio of Qualitree customers across North America. This is a hands-on commercial role combining relationship management, program development, product knowledge and proactive sales. You’ll work with customers throughout their buying cycle: planning seasonal programs, identifying opportunities to expand their business with Qualitree, introducing new products, and ensuring they have the information and expertise they need to make good decisions.

You’ll be supported by a broader Sales team responsible for sales coordination, inventory planning, technical support and market development, allowing you to concentrate on what matters most: knowing your customers, earning their trust and finding opportunities to grow together.

What You’ll Do

Build Strong Customer Relationships

- Develop a strong understanding of each customer’s business, market, buying cycles and product needs.
- Build lasting relationships through regular, proactive communication.
- Understand what’s working, what’s changing and where Qualitree can provide additional value.
- Take ownership of customer concerns and ensure the right internal resources are brought together to resolve them.
- Become a trusted business partner customers can rely on for ideas, information and solutions.

Grow Seasonal Programs & Customer Opportunities

- Lead customer conversations around seasonal programs, bookings and rebookings.
- Review previous purchases to identify opportunities to expand successful programs and close assortment gaps.
- Develop and recommend product programs tailored to each customer, including new products and varieties.
- Work closely with Sales Development Coordinators to keep opportunities, quantities,

timing and customer requirements current as programs develop.
- Maintain visibility of future customer requirements to support sales and inventory planning.
- Follow every opportunity through to a clear commercial outcome, respecting each customer’s buying cycle.

Provide Product & Program Expertise

- Develop strong working knowledge of Qualitree’s young plant and retail-ready product portfolio.
- Help customers identify products appropriate to their programs and markets.
- Connect customers with our Grower Support team when deeper technical expertise is required.
- Ensure product and technical questions are followed through to resolution.
- Bring customer feedback, emerging needs and product opportunities back into the organization.

Work as One Sales Team Account Managers aren’t expected to do everything themselves. Your responsibility is to own the customer relationship while coordinating the resources around it.

- Work with Sales Development Coordinators on quotations, orders, opportunity updates and customer requirements.
- Work with Sales Operations & Inventory on upcoming rebook programs, early-season prompts and product availability.
- Partner with Grower Support on technical and product questions.
- Coordinate with Operations and Logistics to help ensure customer commitments can be delivered.
- Collaborate with Territory Sales as new customers transition into ongoing account management and when larger strategic opportunities emerge within existing accounts.

What Success Looks Like

- Customers hear from you before they need to call you.
- Seasonal programs are planned and confirmed early.
- Strong existing customer business is retained year over year.
- Customers expand into products and programs that make sense for their businesses.
- Opportunities are actively developed and followed through.
- Available products are proactively matched with appropriate customers.

- Customer issues reach the right internal resources quickly and are followed through to resolution.
- Your portfolio demonstrates healthy, sustainable growth.

What We’re Looking For

- A genuine interest in developing long-term customer relationships.
- Confidence proactively contacting customers rather than waiting for the phone to ring.
- A natural sales instinct and enjoyment in identifying opportunities.
- The organization to manage a sizeable customer portfolio while still making individual customers feel known and valued.
- The ability to manage multiple seasonal programs and priorities.
- Strong listening skills, sound judgement and the ability to recommend practical solutions.
- Ownership, follow-through and collaborative communication across departments.
- Comfort working with CRM systems and using customer information to guide decisions.
- Curiosity about products and how customers use them.

Experience in horticulture, agriculture, wholesale sales, account management, retail buying or another B2B environment is an asset. Just as key are initiative, sound judgement, curiosity and a genuine desire to help customers succeed. Why Qualitree?

You’ll be joining a company with an established North American customer base and a Sales organization that’s continuing to evolve. We’re investing in specialized roles across account management, sales coordination, inventory planning, technical support and territory development so our people can spend more time doing what they do best.

We value initiative, fresh ideas and continuous improvement. For an Account Manager, that means an opportunity to build meaningful customer relationships, develop strong horticultural and commercial knowledge, and have a measurable impact on the growth of both our customers and Qualitree.

Ready to Grow With Us?

If you’re looking for a sales role built around relationships, horticulture and helping customers grow their businesses, we’d like to hear from you.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
