THE OPPORTUNITY
We are writing an exciting new chapter, and our finance team is at the heart of it. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will manage accounting activities, strengthen our financial processes, support business decision-making and ensure the integrity of our financial information.
This is more than a traditional accounting role. You will be a key player in our financial transformation: optimizing processes, standardizing documentation and helping implement a new ERP system. If you bring strong technical accounting knowledge, sharp critical thinking and the confidence to challenge the way things have always been done, this is your chance to make a lasting impact.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Financial reporting and closing
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
- Complete month-end and year-end closing processes
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Analyze financial results and explain variances
- Conduct detailed reviews of financial results and accounting records
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations and company policies
Cash, budgets and forecasting
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts
- Monitor working capital requirements and liquidity needs
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts
Transformation and ERP
- Review existing accounting procedures and recommend improvements
- Develop, standardize and maintain accounting policies and documentation
- Participate in the modernization and automation of financial reporting processes
- Support the digitization of financial information and records
- Participate in the implementation of an ERP system and related process improvements
- Assist with data migration, system testing and user training initiatives
Business partnership
- Prepare financial analyses and management reports to support business decisions
- Collaborate with operational teams to improve processes and financial controls
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, accuracy and accountability across the finance function
WHAT YOU BRING
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
- 2 to 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Assets
- Experience in ERP implementation or system upgrades
- Experience in distribution, transportation, logistics, energy or related industries
- Bilingualism (English and French)
