Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounting Manager to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will possess solid analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, managing accounts payable, and overseeing budgeting processes. The Accounting Manager will play a key role in maintaining financial integrity and supporting corporate finance initiatives.
Main Responsibilities:
- Supervise end-to-end accounts payable, including receiving, verifying, and entering invoices within required timeframes, and preparing payments on time
- Oversee end-to-end accounts receivable, including issuing invoices and packing slips, receiving payments, and reconciling AR statements
- Maintain accurate records and filing, ensuring documentation is properly coded and attached in the accounting/ERP system
- Respond to vendor and customer inquiries and reconcile AP/AR statements of account in a timely manner.
- Record and reconcile bank and credit card statements, match receipts, and resolve discrepancies and variances
- Book and reconcile intercompany transactions
- Support external audits from the accounting firm, CRA, and other government agencies
- Lead monthly financial close and prepare financial reports required by government agencies and management
- Prepare and file monthly GST returns
- Perform other accounting and payroll duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred
- At least 3 years of relevant experience for full accounting cycles.
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong MS Excel skills
- QuickBooks or ERP experience
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Excellent work ethic, self-motivated
