The Opportunity: This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented and organized accounting professional to join our Finance team and contribute to the day-to-day financial operations of the organization. The Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper will work across a variety of accounting functions, including accounts receivable and payable, payroll, expenses, commissions, and financial reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with numbers, maintaining accurate records, and supporting a busy Finance team.

Job Summary: The Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and providing day-to-day accounting, clerical, and administrative support to the Finance Department. The role supports the processing and reconciliation of accounts receivable and payable, payroll and expense administration, commission tracking, and financial reporting. Working closely with the Finance team, the Accounting Technician / Bookkeeper helps ensure financial information is accurate, organized, and maintained in accordance with company processes and requirements.

Responsibilities and Duties:

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including processing invoices, recording payments/claims, and reconciling vendor and customer accounts
- Prepare bank deposits and record cash receipts
- Enter financial transaction data into the accounting system daily
- Post journal entries and prepare supporting documentation for financial transactions
- Perform bank and other account reconciliations, including month-end reconciliations
- Prepare and maintain trial balances, general ledger accounts, and financial statements




- Assist with general ledger maintenance and month-end and year-end closing activities
- Process employee and corporate expense reports
- Process government remittances on a timely basis
- Support commission calculations and tracking as required
- Prepare financial, statistical, and ad hoc reports and analyses as requested by management
- Maintain organized accounting documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
- Respond to internal inquiries and provide finance-related support to company personnel
- Assist in the preparation of the year end audited financial statements as needed
- Carry out other duties reasonably related to the role, as assigned by management

Qualifications

- College diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
- Experience working with spreadsheets and financial data with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong numerical aptitude and mathematical skills
- Well-organized with the ability to prioritize responsibilities and meet deadlines

- The work is performed in an office environment, which requires long periods of sitting and the use of computer screens. Minimal lifting, bending, and crouching are required.

Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
