About the role The Administrator at Pacheedaht First Nation (PFN) holds a crucial position in propelling our Nation forward, nurturing community welfare, and securing lasting development. Directly accountable to Chief & Council, the Administrator collaborates closely with leaders and community members to offer strategic and practical guidance, lead administrative functions, oversee finances, steward organizational culture and foster community involvement.

What you will do The duties and responsibilities of the Administrator include (but are not limited to):

Strategic and Operational Vision and Leadership o Develop and execute a long-term vision aligned with community values, traditions, and aspirations o Collaborate with the Chief & Council to set strategic priorities and guide decision-making, ensuring transparent governance

Financial Management o Working with the Finance Director/Controller, develop and oversee budgets, financial strategies, and funding agreements o Working with the Finance Director/Controller, ensure fiscal responsibility, accountability, and compliance with funding agencies o Stay updated on all budget and funding requirements, relevant government financial legislation and policies, and Chief and Council financial policies and procedures

Staff Leadership o Works with the HR Director around recruitment, coaching, development, and mentorship of staff, fostering openness, flexibility, and resilience o Collaborate with HR and departmental directors/managers to provide guidance and monitor staff performance, implementing corrective action as needed o Cultivate a positive and cohesive work environment aligned with Pacheedaht First Nation’s culture and values, ensuring compliance with applicable employment legislation

Community Relations and Advocacy o Advocate for community interests at regional, national,



and international levels o Build partnerships with government agencies, non-governmental agencies, industry, and other stakeholders to advance community goals o Uphold Indigenous knowledge, language, and traditions

Education & Experience

· Post-secondary degree in administration, leadership, management studies, Indigenous studies, or a related field, with a strong understanding of finances and financial planning

· 10+ years of related experience - ideally in an executive management role of an Indigenous organization (with experience in a direct organizational/financial leadership

· Extensive background in executive leadership/management, and strategic planning - ideally within a First Nations or Indigenous community context

· Demonstrated dedication to preserving and promoting a Nation’s culture, language, and traditional ways of life

· Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills, with a talent for building consensus and navigating complex political environments

· Proven success in advocacy, negotiation, and building relationships with government, industry, community partners, and other stakeholders

COMPENSATION: $130k + benefits to start
