Anne Métis Community

Association (LSAMCA) is the representative body for the historic and contemporary Lac Ste. Anne Métis (LSAM) community, an independent, vibrant Métis community whose section 35 (Constitution Act, 1982) Métis Aboriginal rights were credible asserted by the Province of Alberta in 2022.

The Lac

Ste. Anne Métis community’s traditional territory encompasses lands and waters that are today known as west central and northwest Alberta.

As a kinship-based community with a strong sense of community and cultural identity, we participate in a shared culture inclusive of our distinctive customs and traditions, including the continued exercise of our Métis harvesting rights. These activities and way of life remain core to our identity as a modern-day, rights bearing Métis people.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Agreement & Partnership Manager is responsible for managing the Lac Ste. Anne Metis Development Limited Partnership’s (“LSAMD LP”) relationships, partnerships, and business agreements in Alberta. This position plays a key role in maintaining existing and development current relationships with relevant proponent, prime contractor, partner company (suppliers, service providers) staff, as well as other stakeholders.

The Agreement & Partnership Manager oversees agreements from initial development and negotiation through execution, monitoring, renewal and closure. The position ensures that obligations within existing agreements are well understood and fulfilled. Identifying opportunities to strengthen existing partnerships and developing new business relationships is key to this role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Agreement Management

- Manage the full lifecycle of agreements including any associated work orders.
- Monitor key dates and coordinate agreement renewals, extensions, amendments, and close-outs.
- Coordinate agreement negotiations with new suppliers and service providers.
- Maintain an organized agreement management system and ensure agreements, amendments, renewals, and supporting documentation are current.
- Monitor agreement performance and identify any potential agreements risks or issues.
- Ensure appropriate approvals are obtained before contracts or amendments are finalized.
- Work with management and/or legal advisors when specialized contract or legal advice is required.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive agreement and business information.

Partnership Development & Management

- Develop and maintain positive, professional relationships with proponents, prime contractors, business partners and other stakeholders, as required.




- Identify opportunities for improvement and growth within existing agreements.
- Identify opportunities to establish new partnerships that support organizational and business objectives.
- Initiate the development of partnership agreements, memorandums of understanding, service agreements, and other collaborative arrangements, as required.
- Represent the organization professionally at meetings, networking events, community events, and industry functions.
- Act as a key point of contact between the organization and external partners.
- Support the development of proposals, bids, submissions, and partnership opportunities.

Procurement & Business Development

- Monitor procurement opportunities, programs, funding opportunities, and partnership initiatives.
- Identify potential business opportunities that may be of interest to LSAMCA member owned businesses.
- Assist with requests for proposals (RFPs), requests for quotations (RFQs), requests for information (RFIs), expressions of interest (EOIs), tenders, and other procurement processes.
- Develop and maintain relationships with relevant prime contractors.
- Evaluate potential partners based on qualifications, capacity, experience, and other relevant criteria.
- Maintain a database of current and potential partners.

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

- Monitor agreement and work order values, billing requirements, payment schedules, and financial obligations.
- Coordinate with accounting and management staff to ensure accurate invoicing and payment processes.
- Prepare agreement roll-up reports and partnership updates.
- Maintain accurate records of agreements, including work orders, and other correspondence.
- Coordinate meetings and follow-ups related to agreement and partnership requirements.
- Identify and participate in developing applications related to funding opportunities focused on community economic development.
- Participate in strategic planning activities initiated by the Board of Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

- Post-secondary education in business administration, finance, commerce, contract management, professional management, project management, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience working with QuickBooks is an asset.




- Experience working with Indigenous organizations is an asset.
- Proficiency with contract/document management systems is an asset.
- 3–5 or more years of experience in contract or agreement management, procurement / supply chain, business development, project coordination, or a related role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Work, Outlook, Teams)
- Strong understanding of contract or agreement administration and relationship management.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel in west central Alberta, as required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Position is based out of our offices in Stony Plain, AB.
- May require attendance at community meetings, conferences, and or other events.
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to accommodate community meetings or other events.

COMPENSATION The salary for this role is dependent upon prior experience and will be negotiated with the successful candidate. The Lac Ste. Anne Métis Development LP offers a supportive work environment and a total compensation package which includes:
