Area Sales Manager – Industrial Automation

Our client, a global manufacturer, is looking to hire an Area Sales Manager for North Toronto GTA and surrounding and areas.

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for managing and growing sales of a comprehensive offering of automation products and solutions. Focus will be on defined key industries in South West Ontario. Products offerings include sensors, control systems, motion vision, process control and factory automation solutions as well as customer specific solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Develop and maintain value-based relationships across customer’s organizations to include operations, engineering, sales, marketing, estimating and executive management
- Gather and analyze information on the customer’s business, competitors, and internal processes.
- Develop proposals, cost savings opportunities and quantified business impact to support customers financial and operational objectives.
- Focus on high-tech product offering and solve sensor applications where necessary




- Utilize strong sales processes including account planning, sales strategy development and execution to generate/develop strong consistent growth from assigned account list
- Maintain knowledge of competitors' strengths and weaknesses to include both product and channel

KEY REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Technical, post graduate degree with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of industrial automation sales experience and solid, local market knowledge
- Hunter/Qualifier sales profile
- Proven track record of successful, complex, high-level negotiations
- Familiarity with all levels and functions of current and future plant-floor automation architectures
- Solid comfort level with office productivity tools
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Available and able to travel throughout assigned region, visiting with customers & distributors
- Overnight travel is required (approximately 10-15%, for training & meetings).
- Occasional travel to the U.S. for training, sales meetings may be necessary. All applicants must be legally eligible to enter the U.S.
- Resides in assigned region.
