WHAT ARE SOME OF THE COOL PROJECTS DESIGNED AND BUILT
Hoists for the world’s second heaviest on-shore lifter at 13,000 tons
High speed winches and control system for a 2,000-foot artificial surfing pool
Gate hoists on the largest infrastructure project in Canada
Mechanical stage device for Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas
Shaft sinking winches with 110,000 lbs line pull for mining projects in Australia
Mooring and riser pull-in systems for multiple offshore energy projects world-wide
Hoists for aqueduct construction which supplies 50% of drinking water to New York City
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Follow company planning system for production scheduling
Prepare work schedules, make work assignments for employees and sets work deadlines
Inspect work in progress and completed to ensure conformance to specifications and adherence to quality standards
Collaboration with engineering department through design and assembly process
Issue purchase requisitions for materials and parts necessary to perform work
Maintain ISO-9001 Standards as they relate to manufacturing
Attend weekly production meetings and report on work in progress
Support the Manufacturing Manager in the development of sales proposals by providing labour estimates for the assembly department
Take regular measures (including customer feedback) to ensure awareness of the quality of, and attitude towards, work which is performed by direct reports, in order to fairly judge their capabilities
Ensure compliance with the OHSA legislation
Participate in development and implementation of programs to protect employees’ safety and health
WHO YOU ARE
Previous experience within a manufacturer of heavy equipment with leadership responsibilities
Effective leadership and team-building skills
Strong organizational skills, the ability to prioritize, and effectively manage assignments
Journeyperson/licensed in a relevant skilled trade, or equivalent experience
Detail-oriented and self-directed in execution of tasks
Proven sense of urgency in completing tasks
Ability to work well in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
Demonstrated ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulics and electrical design and components
