Merit Manufacturing was founded in 2005 offering laser cutting and metal forming services to clients across South Wester Ontario and Quebec. Sweeprite, a division of Merit Manufacturing has been building road sweeping machine since 1978. Sweeprite division was founded in Regina Saskatchewan and move to Breslau, Ontario in 2018.

Sweeprite is known through out the road sweeping industry for its many innovations and the quality of its products. our growing company has a great team that work together to continuously improve their skills.

Sweeprite, a Canada leader in truck-mounted street sweepers, is seeking a hands-on, detail-driven Assembly Technician to join our production team. You'll be responsible for assembling our street sweepers- equipment trusted by municipalities, contractors, and industrial customers across North Amercia. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys mechnical work, takes pride in quality craftsmanship, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Assemble truck mounted and purpose built street sweepers according to engineering specifications
- Install, connect, and test electrical systems, harnesses, sensors, and control panels
- Assemble and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, hoses, and fittings
- Perform mechanical assembly of frames, hoppers, conveyors, and broom systems
- Conduct functional testing and quality checks before units leave the shop




- Assist customers who visit the facility for service, parts, or equipment pickup
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Work collaboratively with production, service, and engineering teams

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Electrical experience: wiring, troubleshooting, 12V systems
- Hydraulic experience: hose routing, fittings, pumps, valves, diagnostics
- Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with tools, fabrication, or equipment assembly
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and assembly instructions
- Fluent English communication skills – required for interacting with customers and supporting shop visitors
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a hands on manufacturing environment
- Positive attitude, reliability, and solid attention to detail

Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience assembling heavy equipment, trucks, or industrial machinery
- Welding or fabrication experience
- Knowledge of municipal or contractor equipment

Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
