Care also operates summer day camps at select locations, in addition to unique programs such as residential camp and forest school. To ensure the delivery of a developmentally appropriate,



play based program by applying specialized skills and knowledge related to early childhood education. Applies current legislative expectations to support a program that is consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and in accordance with Upper Canada Child Care’s program statement.

Participates in professional development opportunities, staff meetings and training sessions as required. Engages with the children and provides a positive learning experience. Fosters the engagement of and ongoing communication with parents about the program and their children.

Completes program charts, daily logs, reports, and other administration tasks as required. Uses Storypark for pedagogical documentation as a guide for program development. Effectively collaborates and communicates with other team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to help support the needs of all children.

Identifies children in need of additional support. Helps design and implement individual support plans as required. Health assessment and record of immunization, as outlined by legislation. Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid (training provided upon selection if required).

Basic knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge.

Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation, and with the use of pedagogical documentation an asset. Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces.
