Description:

The Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery, Temerty Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto and the Department of Otolaryngology – Head & Neck Surgery - Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) are inviting applications for up to two permanent full time academic paediatric Otolaryngologist – head and neck surgeon positions. The effective date of the appointments is anticipated to be July 1, 2027. The successful candidates will have an academic position description of OHNS scientist/investigator or teacher and must be eligible for a full time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor at the University of Toronto.

Candidates completing their fellowship training in June 2027 will be considered.

The Department of Otolaryngology – HNS at SickKids is highly specialized, focusing on disease, injury, and congenital disorders related to the ear, nose, throat and larynx, head, and neck. The department is one of 3 provincial sites designated for pediatric cochlear implantation and other implantable hearing technology and performs up to 160 devices per year. The department is comprised of seven full-time academic surgeons and is the largest provincial and national training centre for paediatric OHNS surgeons (residents and fellows).

The successful candidates must hold an MD, MBBS or equivalent. The candidate must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) and hold certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery or possess equivalent board certification or specialist recognition/certification.

Candidates must be able to function proficiently in English.



The ideal candidate will demonstrate a robust research interest, and responsibilities will include clinical, scholarly, teaching, program development and administrative duties.

The successful candidates will be fellowship trained in complex paediatric otolaryngology with the capacity to manage the full breadth of paediatric patients on call. Their elective practice will have focus on, but will not be limited to, paediatric otology including cochlear implantation and expertise, experience and training in this area will be required.

Base remuneration will be in the estimated range of $408,000.00 CAD - $510,000.00 CAD, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
