We are looking for talented secondary and post-secondary students with an interest in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and math) and a passion for working with children and youth. At The STEAM Project, we offer hands-on experiences that give participants opportunities to learn, build, create, and explore.

Program Locations & Availability:

This is a fully in-person, part-time position. Programs are delivered at our Makerspace in Richmond Hill, as well as at schools and community centres throughout the surrounding area.

Applicants should have availability for programming during one or more of the following times:

- Weekday afternoons and evenings, with program times varying between approximately 3:30pm and 7:00pm
- Weekend mornings and afternoons

Job Responsibilities:

- Review lesson plans and prepare project stations, materials, and equipment before each program
- Instruct lessons and guide participants through hands-on projects and activities
- Assist participants with projects and provide additional guidance as needed
- Engage with participants to ensure they understand instructions, tasks, and project concepts




- Complete participant reviews and provide feedback to support ongoing program and lesson development
- Assist with program setup, cleanup, and organization of materials and equipment
- Maintain a protected, welcoming, and engaging learning environment at all times

Required Skills:

- Experience working with children and/or teens
- Hands-on experience with crafts, technologies, tools, and/or fabrication equipment
- Experience with coding, robotics, and/or electronics
- Valid Standard First Aid with CPR-C, or willingness to obtain certification by the start date
- A clear Vulnerable Sector Check issued within the past six (6) months, or willingness to obtain one

Considered an Asset:

- Additional safety training or experience in a workshop and/or fabrication environment
- Experience with 2D and 3D design software, such as Adobe Illustrator, SketchUp, or AutoCAD

Pay: $16.00-$20.00 per hour
