As part of our Buildings team, you will play a key role in delivering complex institutional projects that serve communities for generations. From hospitals and healthcare facilities to educational and public infrastructure, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of projects that make a lasting impact.
Leveraging your strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and collaborative approach, you will work closely with the Project Manager, consultants, clients, trade partners, and site teams to ensure project objectives are achieved safely, efficiently, and with the highest standards of quality.

What you will do
- Support the Project Manager in the planning, execution, and administration of complex institutional building projects.
- Coordinate project activities, schedules, and deliverables to ensure milestones are achieved.
- Take ownership of specific project scopes and drive them through design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, authorities having jurisdiction, trade partners, and internal teams.
- Monitor project progress and assist in managing budgets, schedules, risks, and contractual obligations.
- Review and track RFIs,
submittals, shop drawings, change orders, change notices, change directives, quotations, and project closeout documentation.
- Assist with procurement activities, including bid analysis and trade partner selection.
- Participate in project meetings, preparing meeting minutes, action items, and follow-up activities.
- Support the management of project compliance requirements, permits, and regulatory approvals common to institutional construction projects.
- Promote and uphold Pomerleau's Health, Safety, and Environmental standards across all project activities.
- Ensure all work meets or exceeds Pomerleau's Quality Management standards and client expectations.
- Identify challenges and support the implementation of practical, solution-oriented approaches.
- Mentor and support Project Coordinators and junior team members through coaching, guidance, and knowledge sharing.
- Continuously expand your technical and construction knowledge through training and project experience.
What YOU Will Bring
- 5-7 years of experience in the ICI construction industry, with exposure to institutional building projects such as healthcare, education, public sector, or civic infrastructure projects.
- Degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Architectural Technology, or a combination of education and relevant industry experience.
- Previous experience as a Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, or similar project management role.
- Strong understanding of construction contracts, project controls, procurement processes,
and project documentation.
- Experience coordinating consultants, stakeholders, and trade partners on complex building projects.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project management platforms.
- Solid organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Detail-oriented mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, high-performing project team.
- Passion for delivering complex projects that positively impact communities and end users.
