We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Scientist (covering Maternity Leave) to join our dynamic research team. In this role, you will play a vital part in advancing scientific understanding through process development, analysis, and laboratory experimentation. Duties
- Process Design: Plan and execute lab-scale extraction, solid-liquid separation, chromatography, filtration studies etc.
- Optimization & Scale-Up: Improve yield, purity, and efficiency, transitioning processes from bench scale to pilot plant or manufacturing scale.
- Analytical Testing: Run routine assays like HPLC, UV-Vis, or spectroscopic methods not limited to analyze extracted samples.
- Documentation: Author technical reports and presentations including preparing verbal updates and presentations at group meetings
- Technology Transfer: Help transfer optimized extraction protocols to internal or external Valuable Manufacturing Practice (GMP) facilities.
- Lab Maintenance: Perform general lab maintenance including cleanliness, equipment maintenance and maintaining inventory.
- Assist in the development of new research techniques and improve existing processes for better efficiency and accuracy.
- Must be comfortable with physical activities of constant standing, walking, sitting and occasionally lifting weight.
Qualification:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Food Science or a related scientific field.
- 1-3+ years of relevant laboratory or industry experience in downstream processing or extraction.
- Hands-on experience with separation techniques, strong data analysis abilities, and positive collaboration skills
- Knowledge of statistical analysis techniques and ability to interpret complex datasets
- Must have excellent attention to detail and ability to keep detailed written records
- Able to analyze and critique experimental results and note significant deviations
- Able to work collaboratively within and outside of the group
- Able to learn and understand new experimental techniques
