Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles for autobody repairs by removing damaged panels, masking areas, and ensuring surfaces are ready for refinishing
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently to perform sanding, grinding, and surface smoothing tasks
- Assist with heavy lifting of vehicle parts and components, following proper safety protocols
- Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify repair needs and ensure all prep work meets quality standards
- Support the autobody repair process by organizing parts and materials needed for repairs
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety guidelines at all times
- Collaborate with technicians and team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects
Skills
- Prior dealership or automotive repair experience is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and other equipment effectively
- Experience with autobody prep work, including masking, sanding, and surface preparation
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a busy workshop environment
- Familiarity with automotive repair processes and standards
- Good communication skills to work seamlessly within a team setting
- Mechanic experience is a plus, demonstrating versatility across automotive maintenance tasks
