Automotive Design Release Engineer

Location: Windsor, ON

Work Model: Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite/week

Travel: Occasional travel to US required

Compensation: T4: $45/hr | INC: $52/hr

Job Overview

We are seeking a Design Release Engineer with automotive experience in transmission and driveline systems . The engineer will lead design, development, validation, and release activities while collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead design and development of transmission, driveline systems, and components .
- Collaborate with CAE, NVH, durability, vehicle dynamics, packaging, manufacturing, and suppliers .
- Develop and execute DVP&R; , including bench and vehicle testing.
- Perform root cause analysis using Fishbone, Is/Is Not, 3L5Y, Red X, and similar tools.
- Drive supplier design approvals and ensure engineering requirements are met.
- Develop and maintain DFMEA,



DVP, SSTS/TTS , and engineering best practices.
- Support design improvements and warranty cost reduction initiatives.
- Prepare technical reports, design reviews, and project updates.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other engineers.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field .
- 3+ years of automotive engineering experience focused on transmission and/or driveline systems.
- Robust knowledge of PTU, RDM, axles, T-case, differential, gears, bearings, torque converters, and gear reducers .
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- Experience working with cross-functional engineering teams.
