Automotive Mechanic
St. Quentin, NB Canada
Work Location: 164 Mgr Martin East, St-Quentin, New Brunswick
Employment Status: Permanent, full-time position
Work Schedule: 44 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Occasional work outside regular working hours may be required in the event of urgent repairs.
Start Date: As soon as possible.

AGB Products is looking for a reliable, independent, and versatile Automotive Mechanic to perform inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on company vehicles.
The successful candidate must be able to organize their workload, effectively diagnose mechanical issues, and ensure that company vehicles remain protected, reliable, and in proper working condition.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on cars, pickup trucks, and service vehicles.
- Perform oil, filter, and fluid changes.
- Inspect and repair brakes, steering, suspension, and exhaust systems.
- Diagnose engine, transmission, starting, and charging system issues.
- Diagnose electrical and electronic issues using a code scanner and multimeter.
- Maintain and repair heating and air conditioning systems, according to the candidate’s skills and certifications.
- Inspect tires, perform tire rotations, and report any abnormal wear.
- Perform safety inspections and identify priority repairs.
- Conduct road tests before and after repairs.
- Document inspections, maintenance, repairs, and parts used.
- Order or identify parts required for repairs.
- Keep the workshop, tools, and equipment clean and safe.
- Follow lockout procedures, occupational health and safety rules,
and WorkSafeNB requirements.
- Inform the Maintenance Manager of any major repairs or situations that could compromise safety.
- Perform other related mechanical duties as required by the company.
Requirements And Skills
- Training in automotive mechanics or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on experience in vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, and repair.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Good knowledge of automotive mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and repair procedures.
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to quality workmanship.
- Ability to communicate clearly with the manager and other employees.
- Journeyperson certification or Red Seal endorsement in Automotive Service Technician is considered an asset.
- Experience with pickup trucks, commercial vehicles, or industrial equipment is considered an asset.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move parts and tools weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Ability to work while standing, kneeling, bending, or underneath a vehicle.
- Ability to work in a workshop environment.
- Ability to wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE).
