Duties
- Safely operate heavy-duty commercial trucks equipped for vehicle hauling, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload vehicles using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or specialized car haulers, ensuring secure transport
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition and compliance with safety standards
- Coordinate with dispatch to plan efficient routes, monitor delivery schedules, and communicate any delays or issues promptly
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting if needed to address minor mechanical issues during trips
- Maintain accurate logs of mileage,
fuel consumption, cargo details, and delivery records for compliance and reporting purposes
- Operate heavy equipment like forklifts when necessary to load or unload vehicles at terminals or storage yards
Skills
- Valid AZ commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record and proven experience in heavy equipment operation
- Proficiency in forklift operation for loading/unloading vehicles safely and efficiently
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and vehicle securing techniques to prevent damage during transit
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues on the road
- Solid understanding of safety protocols related to commercial driving, heavy equipment use, and vehicle transport
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams, customers, and roadside assistance when needed
