POSITION OVERVIEW In the position of Driver you will make a difference every single day as you maintain the productive flow of materials throughout our supply chain, ensure accuracy in product handling, professionalism in customer interactions,



and compliance with all safety, HACCP, and bio-security requirements.

WAGE

$29.00 - $31.00

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

- 1 to 2 years of driving experience related to an A or D vehicle.
- Prior forklift and/or pallet jack experience would be an asset, but training is provided once on the job.
- Able to read, write and speak English and basic math skills. Grade 10 education required.
- License must be current and driving record of not more than 3 points.
- Must be skilled at backing up and manoeuvring 53-foot tandem/ tri axle trailers into difficult and constricted areas.
- Excellent customer relation skills. A positive team player committed to excellent service.
- Able to deal with a broad and diverse customer base in a professional and courteous manner.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Basic math skills and ability to complete paperwork accurately.
- Able to adapt to changes and open to learning new ways to get things done more efficiently and effectively.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment, thinking and reacting quickly, and making fast yet accurate decisions.
- Knowledge of hand trucks, pallet jacks, dock plates, lift gates, load bars, restraint devices etc.
- Equipment Operator’s Certification to operate the forklift and pallet jack, or the ability to obtain certifications.
- To become competent in this position, approximately one-two weeks of on-the-job training would be required to learn the basic requirements of the job, as well as additional working experience learning all aspects of this job.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Operating and driving a delivery vehicle – tractor trailer unit to pick up eggs from producers in a timely and safe manner.
- Completing paperwork (farm slips) and ensuring the amount of product being picked up at each location is correct.
- Operating and driving a delivery vehicle – tractor trailer unit to deliver finished egg products to customers in a timely and safe manner.
- Overseeing all functions of the vehicle, such as condition of the vehicle,



equipment and materials, loading and unloading, and safety and security of the load.
- This position is responsible for materials including the safe operation of mobile equipment and the handling of product.
- Maintaining the general housekeeping and care of the vehicle and reporting any maintenance/operating problems.
- Observing all safety, traffic, and criminal laws and regulations while operating a company vehicle.
- Maintaining standards of professionalism, both in appearance and in interactions with customers and the public in general.
- Maintaining paperwork and materials, correctly handling bills and product being delivered.
- Building and maintaining positive working relationships with all levels of staff, and with customers and producers.
- Ensuring established HACCP, bio-security, and health and safety procedures are followed.
- Making adjustments to paperwork and ensuring changes are forwarded on for correction.
- Loading trailers at each producer location and unloading and correctly storing product in the ungraded egg cooler.
- Operating mobile equipment (pallet jacks and forklifts) as and when needed.
- Report all Accident/Incident/Near Misses/Hazards
- If an accident occurs on shift (including minor accidents) ensure that an accident form is filled out. If a vehicle related collision occurs, fill out collision reports.
- Attend all required meetings.
- Picking up and returning an adequate supply of farm materials (pallets, dividers and flats)
- Picking up and returning empty baskets and racks at stores and warehouse.
- Daily review of email for scheduling and correspondence.
- All other duties and responsibilities assigned to you by your supervisor.
