BOARD DIRECTOR (VOLUNTEER)

Emery-Keelesdale Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic (EKNPLC) provides and coordinates holistic care that connects health care and other related services to support the most vulnerable residents of the clinic’s catchment areas. We commit to a vibrant, ongoing and meaningful collaboration between various agencies creating a healthier and more equitable North York West Community.

Nurse Practitioner Led Clinics (NPLCs) are an innovative model for delivery of comprehensive primary health care in which Nurse Practitioners are the lead health care providers.

The Nurse

Practitioners collaborate with other professionals such as registered nurses, dietitians, and social workers to deliver comprehensive and accessible services. The model is designed to improve access to care for the many thousands of individuals and families who do not currently have a primary health-care provider. Priorities also include enhanced health promotion, disease prevention and management, and providing care coordination to the community.

We are seeking one (1) candidate to join our volunteer Board of Directors, which is responsible for governance and the provision of strategic leadership. Directors are elected for a three-year term (with renewal possible), attend regular Board meetings, and serve on at least one Board committees which includes Finance/Audit, Risk Management and HR. The monthly time commitment averages 4 to 6 hours.





While previous board of director experience is desirable, we are specifically looking for individuals who bring at least one or more of the following experiences or skills:

1. Business/Commerce

2. Legal

3. Human Resources

4. Board Governance

Current members of the EKNPLC Board will interview selected applicants, with successful candidates joining the Board in the October/November time frame. EKNPLC is wholly committed to continue building a Board that reflects the diversity of our community and clients.
