The Ottawa Catholic School Board (OCSB) is dedicated to fostering an inclusive and innovative educational environment. We are seeking a highly skilled Webmaster/Designer to join our Communications team. This role shapes our online presence and strategically drives engagement through advanced web development, design, and cutting-edge AI chatbot initiatives. - Oversee daily operations and long-term management of multiple OCSB websites (e.g., ocsb.ca, conted.ocsb.ca), ensuring stability, functionality, and regulatory compliance.
- Conduct continuous monitoring and optimization to uphold website speed, security, and performance, resolving complex technical issues as they arise.
- Develop new features and advanced integrations in collaboration with the Learning Technologies team on back-end services, API-driven functionalities, and emerging chatbot technology.
- Design responsive, visually compelling web layouts and graphics that align with OCSB's brand standards while enhancing user experience.




- Produce seamless mobile and desktop experiences optimized for multi-platform access, with a deep understanding of user interaction principles and web accessibility.
- You will help to lead the implementation and maintenance of the OCSB's AI-powered chatbot to enhance user engagement and align with communication goals.
- Utilize advanced SEO techniques and analytics tools to optimize content, track user interactions, and improve search visibility.
- Provide actionable recommendations based on data insights to refine both chatbot and website performance.
- Ensure compliance with web accessibility (WCAG 2+) and data privacy regulations through regular audits.
- Apply industry-standard security protocols to safeguard against cyber threats, regularly updating frameworks and overseeing security policies.
- Participate on project teams and committees as required
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications

- College diploma or university degree in a relevant field such as Website Development, Multimedia Design, Computer Science, or other related field
- Minimum 3-5 years of advanced web development and design experience in high-traffic environments.
- Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Git/GitHub for high-level development.
- Proven experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular) and meta-frameworks (Next.js, Nuxt.js).
- Mastery of CMS platforms like WordPress or Webflow with extensive customization experience.
- Expertise in SEO strategy and aria-level="1">

Skilled in responsive design using Figma or Adobe XD to create visually appealing interfaces.
- Strong knowledge of JAMstack and headless CMS setups
- Proficient in web analytics tools to drive strategy and improve user experience.
- Experience implementing security measures, including firewalls and malware detection.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2+) for accessible design features
- Exemplary interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, analytical and time management skills
- Ability to learn recent tasks quickly
- Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered

This is a full time (1.0 FTE) temporary assignment for 4-6 weeks with the possibility of extension.



The start date is as soon as the recruitment process has been completed and the anticipated end date would be approximately October 16, 2026. The salary range for this role is based on an annual salary of $95,098 - $103,153 which would be prorated to the duration and FTE of the assignment.
