Job Overview

Urban Core Ventures, a Victoria, BC-based residential construction and property development company, is seeking a Skilled Labourer with a minimum of 5 years of construction experience to join our team. This role supports our tradespeople and site supervisors across new-build and renovation projects, and is well-suited to someone who takes pride in quality work, safety, and getting the job done right the first time.

Duties

- Assist and support carpenters, framers, and other tradespeople with day-to-day tasks on residential build and renovation sites
- Load, unload, and move materials and equipment safely on-site
- Prepare and maintain job sites — clearing debris, setting up scaffolding, organizing tools and materials
- Operate hand tools and small power equipment (drills, saws, nail guns, etc.)
- Perform general labour tasks including digging, lifting, framing support, and demolition
- Complete basic finishing work such as painting, caulking, and touch-ups
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe worksite throughout each project




- Follow all site safety protocols and WorkSafeBC requirements

Skills & Experience

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in residential construction or renovation
- Solid working knowledge of construction tools, materials, and basic trade practices
- Comfortable reading basic site plans and following direction from site supervisors
- Physically fit with the strength and stamina for demanding manual work
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious with a strong work ethic

Requirements

- Valid BC Driver's License
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Comfortable and experienced working with power tools and equipment
- Level 1 First Aid certification (required, or willing to obtain before start date)
- Legally entitled to work in Canada
