Business Analyst – Process Engineering / Payments

Toronto, Ontario, Canada | 6-Month T4 Contract | Hybrid, 3–4 days onsite

About the Role

Our consulting client is seeking an experienced Business Analyst with strong Process Engineering and Payments domain expertise for a 6-month contract in Toronto. This role requires deep knowledge of payment operations, FX processing, liquidity management, and SWIFT ISO 20022, combined with hands-on experience applying Lean, Six Sigma, Lean Six Sigma, DFSS, and Business Process Reengineering methodologies.

The successful candidate will help assess, redesign, and improve complex operational processes with a focus on reducing waste, improving quality, increasing process flow, and establishing sustainable continuous improvement practices.

Responsibilities

- Analyze and improve complex business and operational processes within payments environments.
- Apply Lean principles to eliminate waste and non-value-added activity while maximizing process flow and reducing cycle time from the customer’s perspective.
- Apply Six Sigma methodologies to reduce process variation and defects and improve consistency and quality.
- Use Lean Six Sigma approaches to deliver faster, higher-quality outcomes at lower cost and complexity.
- Support Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) and Business Process Reengineering (BPR) initiatives involving significant process redesign.
- Establish process metrics, reporting, and performance measurements.
- Conduct operational reviews and process health checks.




- Facilitate continuous process improvement initiatives with business leaders and operational teams.
- Mentor stakeholders and teams on process improvement methodologies and practices.
- Analyze payment workflows across high value payments, low value payments, FX, liquidity, accounting, risk management, and operations processing.

Required Skills / What You Bring

- Extensive payments domain expertise .
- Deep knowledge of High Value Payments (HVP) and Low Value Payments (LVP) ecosystems.
- Strong understanding of Foreign Exchange (FX) products and end-to-end FX processing.
- Expertise in domestic and foreign exchange Nostro and Vostro accounting .
- Strong knowledge of liquidity management , including intraday and end-of-day operations.
- Knowledge of risk management and operations processing within payments environments .
- Strong familiarity with SWIFT ISO 20022 message standards , including payment, cash management, and FX message schemas.
- Solid practical knowledge of Lean methodologies.
- Experience with Six Sigma .
- Experience applying Lean Six Sigma .
- Knowledge of Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) .
- Experience with Business Process Reengineering (BPR) .
- Experience establishing metrics, reporting, operational reviews, and health checks as part of Continuous Process Improvement programs.
- Strong Business Analysis and Process Engineering capabilities.
- Ability to work onsite in Toronto 3–4 days per week.

Compensation The hourly rate for this contract position is $50 per hour (T4). #Agility IT
