Salary: Minimum: $105 931 Maximum: $133 169

Under the supervision of the Head of Communications, the incumbent actively contributes to achieving the Vice President’s objectives by providing strategic guidance to the teams at the Montreal Port Authority.

The Business Partner, Communications works closely with the team dedicated to the Port of Montreal’s expansion project in Contrecoeur. He or she also contributes to community relations activities to foster social acceptance of the project and maintain an open dialogue with stakeholders, while building relationships based on trust.

Key Responsibilities:

- Serve as a strategic advisor to the departments and teams of the Montreal Port Authority.
- Actively contribute to the implementation of communication plans while taking project timelines into account.
- Collaborate on the execution of community outreach activities.
- Plan and coordinate meetings, site visits, and other informational activities, ensuring a high-quality experience for participants.
- Represent the organization, as needed, on committees, in working groups, and at public meetings or events organized by community organizations, among other.

Develop and deploy communication tools

- Develop and update project-related communication tools (Q&A;, key messages, presentations, fact sheets).
- Ensure that the web content under their responsibility is up to date.
- Ensure the consistency, quality, and accuracy of messages disseminated by the organization across all platforms and media.





Contribute to issue management

- Participate in identifying, analyzing, and monitoring issues that could impact the reputation of the organization or the projects under your responsibility.
- Collaborate on the development and implementation of issue management strategies.

Monitor developments

- Monitor news and trends relevant to the issues under your responsibility.
- Track communication activities and produce reports and recommendations.

Perform any other related tasks.

The incumbent will work in an environment where issues receive significant media attention and where project deadlines require a high degree of adaptability, coordination, and priority management.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in communications, ideally in a complex environment or managing large-scale projects.
- Significant experience in strategic communications and supporting internal partners.
- Excellent writing and editing skills in French and English; ability to simplify complex content.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing communication plans.
- Experience coordinating events.
- Proficiency in Office 365.
- Desired skills: Solid ability to collaborate with teams, strategic advisory skills, rigorous organizational management, and proven organizational skills.
- Willingness to relocate and occasional availability for non-standard work schedules.
