About the Position

Comfort First Caregivers is looking for an energetic, outgoing, warm and personable Caregiver/PSW to provide companionship and in-home support to a senior client in Toronto.

This position is particularly well suited for a Caregiver/PSW who is lively, cheerful, conversational and naturally engaging. The client enjoys having a caregiver who brings positive energy to the home and is comfortable talking, laughing and participating in everyday activities.

Personality and client compatibility are extremely key for this position.

Communication Requirements – VERY IMPORTANT Excellent spoken English is essential for this position.

The client has hearing difficulties, so the successful candidate must have:

- Exceptionally clear spoken English
- Strong pronunciation and verbal communication skills
- Excellent listening and comprehension skills
- The ability to communicate naturally at an appropriate pace and volume




- The ability to communicate clearly without the client frequently needing to ask for repetition or clarification

Candidates should be highly comfortable carrying on natural, everyday conversations in clear understandable English.

Schedule

Friday: 12:00 PM – Monday: 12:00 PM (Flexible)

This is a weekend live-in position, and the successful candidate must be comfortable with the live-in arrangement and weekend schedule.

Qualifications

- Previous experience working with seniors
- Caregiver, PSW or equivalent experience
- Excellent spoken English and communication skills
- Reliable and dependable
- Ability to work independently
- PSW certification is an asset
- VSC Certificate

Client Compatibility Because this is a private-home caregiving position, finding the right personality and communication fit is very important.

Shortlisted candidates will participate in an interview where we will discuss your caregiving experience, communication style, personality and approach to working with seniors.
