Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials for patient procedures, ensuring cleanliness and organization.
- Assist dentists during various treatments, including restorative, orthodontic, and pediatric procedures, providing support with precision and care.
- Manage patient records using dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), adhering to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist by greeting patients, scheduling appointments, and answering questions professionally.
- Educate patients on post-treatment care and oral hygiene practices to promote long-term dental health.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and sterilize instruments according to infection control guidelines.
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) credential or equivalent certification required.
- Experience with dental practice management software such as Dentrix is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental procedures.
- Familiarity with orthodontics, pediatrics dentistry, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools used in dental restorations is a plus.
- Solid understanding of dental assisting techniques, sterilization protocols, and infection control standards.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients of diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
