Children and Family Support Counsellor The Family Resource Centre – Vernon, B.C.

The Family Resource Centre (FRC) is a agile client-centered social service agency with a mission of providing affordable counselling and support programs to residents in the North Okanagan.

FRC is seeking a Children and Family Support Counsellor for a one-year part-time contract to join our Family Support Worker (FSW) program. The contract is for 16 hours per week. The Family Support Worker program provides counselling to children and youth ages 6 to 18 with mild to moderate mental health challenges. Counsellor may also work with caregivers.

Qualifications

· BA or MA in related field (psychology, counselling, social work) required

· Previous experience in counselling required

· Experience working with children a plus

· Experience in group facilitation (particularly with children) a plus

· Excellent communication skills

· Works from a team perspective

· Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Checks required

· After-hours work may be required.

Pay: $24.16-$62.05 per hour
