Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Classroom Assistant to support the educational development of children with special needs. In this vital role, you will work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

In addition light kitchen duties will be assigned to add extra hours to your day.

Duties

- Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans tailored to each child's unique needs
- Support children with disabilities during classroom activities, ensuring they are engaged and included
- Help manage behavior by employing positive reinforcement strategies and maintaining a calm, supportive presence
- Prepare learning materials and adapt activities to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities
- Supervise children during breaks, lunch periods, and outdoor activities to ensure safety at all times




- Collaborate with specialists such as speech therapists or occupational therapists to reinforce therapy goals within the classroom setting

Requirements

- Prior experience working with children, particularly those with special needs or disabilities, is highly desirable
- Knowledge of classroom management techniques and early childhood education principle
- Robust communication skills to effectively interact with children, teachers, parents, and team members
- Demonstrated patience, empathy, and adaptability when working with diverse learners
- Relevant certifications or coursework in special education or early childhood education preferred
