We’re a brand-new climbing gym in Richmond, BC, and we’re looking for an energetic, outgoing, responsible, and people-focused team member to grow with us!

At Skysteps Climbing Gym, we’re more than just a climbing facility. We’re building a fun, welcoming community where people of all ages can enjoy movement, adventure, fitness, and new challenges.

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about fitness, enjoys working with kids and families, and brings positive energy to everything they do.

THE ROLE

This is a part-time position, with most shifts available on weekends.

Your main role will be as a Climbing Instructor, helping guests safely and confidently use our climbing walls and auto-belay system. You’ll also assist with Front Desk and daily gym operations when needed.

No climbing experience? No problem! Training will be provided.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

Climbing Instructor

- Welcome guests and create a fun, positive experience
- Provide safety briefings and explain how to properly use our auto-belay system
- Ensure guests understand and follow climbing safety procedures
- Encourage and support climbers, especially kids and first-time visitors
- Help create a safe, energetic, and welcoming climbing environment

Front Desk & Customer Service

- Greet guests with a friendly and enthusiastic attitude
- Check in guests and assist with climbing session bookings
- Answer phone calls, emails, and customer inquiries
- Assist with birthday parties, group bookings, and special events
- Help keep the facility clean, organized, and welcoming

Daily Operations

- Assist with general gym operations
- Manage client accounts and basic administrative tasks
- Support the team with day-to-day needs
- Help ensure every guest has a safe and enjoyable visit

QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of post-secondary education
- Approximately 2 years of work experience
- Customer service, recreation, fitness, childcare, climbing, or front-desk experience is an asset
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills, including Google Drive, email, Excel, and Word
- Previous climbing experience is an asset, but not required — training will be provided

AVAILABILITY We are primarily looking for applicants who can work:

Weekdays: 2:00 PM – 7:00 PM

Weekends: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Weekend availability is especially important for this position.
