Facility: Weyburn Primary Health Care Department: Primary Care Sites Type: Full-time regular Shift Information: Days Hours of Work: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Field Hours: No Physician Assistants (PAs) are academically and clinically educated medical generalist who practice medicine within a formalized relationship with a physician. Regulated by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS), PAs collect and interpret medical information, make appropriate clinical decisions and carry out diagnostic and therapeutic interventions within a formalized Physician/PA relationship agreement approved by the CPSS.
Travel Required: No Clinical experience working as a PA in a related clinical field, is an asset Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant educational degree program recognized by the Physician Assistant Certification Council of Canada (PACCC) Canadian Certified Physician Assistant (CCPA) through PACCC or the Physician Assistant - Certified (PA-C)
through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). (Membership and Licensure in positive standing with the CPSS as a Physician Assistant (Eligible for registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS) for applicants outside of Saskatchewan) Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants Intermediate - Computer skills Advanced - Technical skills Exemplifies ethical practices, professionalism and personal integrity Demonstrated written and spoken competence in English language Commitment to quality, safety, and improvement striving towards zero harm Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate (ACLS) an asset Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (PALS) an asset Current ATLS Certification (Advanced Trauma Life Support), is an asset May provide services to acute and long term care sites as required
