Samco Machinery is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Operator to join our team at our Scarborough facility. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes to turn, thread, groove, drill, and bore precision components in accordance with engineering drawings and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC lathes to perform turning, threading, grooving, drilling, and boring operations
- Read and interpret G&M; code programs
- Set up parts using crane, indicating, and clamping methods
- Perform first-off, last-off, and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, verniers) to confirm tolerances
- Select tooling to achieve required surface finish and cutting efficiency; adjust tool lengths and offsets




- Identify and report nonconformities; keep parts free of burrs and properly identified
- Plan and organize work to minimize setup and cycle times and keep production on schedule
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OHSA and company safety procedures
- Collaborate with supervisors and shop floor teams to meet production and quality goals

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma plus technical training in CNC operations; CNC Machinist certificate or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5 years' experience setting up and operating CNC lathes
- Strong knowledge of CNC programs and G&M; codes
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, bore gauges, gauge blocks, verniers)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
