Samco Machinery is seeking a skilled and motivated CNC Machinist to join our team at our Scarborough facility. This role is responsible for setting up and operating CNC vertical machining centers (VMC) to produce precision-machined components in accordance with engineering drawings, GD&T; specifications, and production requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate CNC mills/VMCs to produce parts from blueprints, work orders, and CNC programs
- Program mills, including zero/reference points, tool offsets, and compensation
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T; to plan machining sequences
- Perform first-run and in-process inspections using precision measuring tools (micrometers, verniers, gauges) to confirm tolerances
- Set up tooling and fixtures (i.e. collets, vices, bushings, stops and tram heads) as needed
- Troubleshoot machine performance, adjust for tool wear,



and maintain part quality
- Maintain accurate production and quality documentation
- Operate related material handling equipment (forklift, crane, lift magnet) as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in compliance with OHSA and company safety procedures
- Collaborate with supervisors and shop floor teams to meet production and quality goals

Required Qualifications

- High school diploma plus technical training as a Machinist; Machinist certificate or equivalent hands-on experience
- 5 years' experience as a machinist operating CNC milling equipment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T;
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments (micrometers, verniers, height/bore gauges)
- Robust problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced production environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: From $22.00 per hour
