Schedule: 36.25 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8:15 a.m.–4:30 p.m. MT

THE OPPORTUNITY

VStream Labs Inc. is seeking an experienced Communications Specialist to support a major public-sector transformation environment in Edmonton. This role is ideal for a strategic communicator who can turn complex business and technical information into explicit, audience-focused communications for executives, employees and stakeholders.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Develop communication strategies and plans for transformation, technology and operational initiatives.
- Draft executive messages, speaking notes, briefing materials, announcements, newsletters, FAQs and monthly branch updates.
- Create polished presentations, infographics and visual communication materials using advanced Microsoft PowerPoint and related design tools.
- Translate complex business and technical information into concise, plain-language content.
- Lead change communications and support town halls and stakeholder sessions.
- Prepare timely service outage, maintenance and incident notifications.
- Review, edit and quality-check communications for clarity, tone, accuracy and brand alignment.
- Build reusable templates and help maintain a consistent visual identity.
- Partner closely with executives, senior leaders and subject-matter experts.

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

- University degree in Communications,



Commerce or a related discipline plus at least 4 years of related experience; or a related diploma plus at least 6 years; equivalent combinations may be considered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- 12+ years developing communication strategies and plans.
- 13+ years delivering internal or organizational communications, including executive messages, announcements, newsletters and briefings.
- 13+ years creating presentations and visual communications, including advanced PowerPoint.
- 12+ years reviewing and improving communications products.
- 13+ years of business writing, editing and translating technical information.
- 12+ years collaborating with executives, senior leaders and subject-matter experts.

ASSETS

- Branding, visual identity, templates and infographics using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
- Service outage, incident and maintenance communications.
- Technology, IT or digital-transformation communications.
- Government, public-sector, justice or regulated-environment experience.
- Transformation and change communications.
- SharePoint and Microsoft Teams publishing.
