Role Overview:

The Community Outreach Development Officer will be the face of Black Mentorship Inc. (BMI) within the community, building and growing relationships with employers, community organizations, post-secondary institutions, and other stakeholders that expand opportunities for the individuals BMI serves. This role leads outreach strategy and execution, represents BMI at events across the GTA, and works closely with the program team to ensure outreach efforts translate into meaningful participation, partnerships, and outcomes for BMI's programs.

This is an ideal role for a relationship-driven, self-directed skilled with proven outreach or business/community development experience gained in Canada, who is comfortable balancing a flexible, event-driven schedule with structured administrative reporting.

A valid Canadian driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle are required, as this role involves regular local travel to partner organizations, employer sites, and community events across the GTA.

Key Responsibilities:

Community & Stakeholder Outreach

- Identify, build, and maintain relationships with employers, community organizations, post-secondary institutions, and other stakeholders relevant to BMI's mission.
- Develop and execute an outreach strategy and calendar to grow awareness of and participation in BMI's programs.
- Represent BMI at career fairs, conferences, community events, and industry networking sessions — including evenings and weekends as required.
- Travel across the GTA to meet with partners, attend events, and conduct in-person outreach on behalf of BMI.
- Serve as a primary point of contact and public face of BMI within partner and community networks.





Partnership & Program Development

- Cultivate new partnerships that create employment, mentorship, and funding opportunities for BMI's programs and participants.
- Negotiate and formalize partnership agreements and sponsorships in collaboration with the Executive Director.
- Collaborate with the program team to align outreach activities with program capacity, goals, and participant needs.
- Support recruitment of program participants, mentors, volunteers, and community champions.

Reporting & Administration

- Track outreach activities, leads, and partnership outcomes using BMI's data management tools.
- Prepare regular outreach and community development reports for the Executive Director and funders.
- Support grant reporting by supplying accurate outreach metrics and community impact updates.
- Maintain accurate records of mileage, expenses, and event participation in accordance with Company policy.

Brand Representation & Communications

- Promote BMI's programs and mission through professional, on-brand representation at all external engagements.
- Support the creation of outreach materials, presentations, and social media content highlighting community engagement.
- Work with the marketing/communications function to ensure consistent messaging across outreach channels.

Qualification:

A post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field — Business, Public Relations/Communications, Social Work, Public Administration, or Community Development
