Welcome to CIMA+
CIMA+ is seeking an experienced Construction Inspector in Southern Ontario to join our Infrastructure group to support our growing water and wastewater construction practice. The successful candidate will work as an integral member of multidisciplinary construction management teams delivering complex water and wastewater treatment, pumping station, and related infrastructure projects. The role will focus on field inspection, quality assurance, documentation, and verification of civil, structural, process mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls work for compliance with the Contract Documents.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform field inspection and quality assurance on water and wastewater treatment, pumping station and related municipal infrastructure projects, including civil,
structural, process mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls work.
- Document construction site activities (keeping a detailed daily report log, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions) and identify and monitor deficiencies.
- Identify field issues and non-conforming work, coordinate with the Contract Administrator and engineering team to facilitate timely resolution and communicate approved direction to the Contractor as appropriate.
- Arrange on-site geotechnical investigations and material testing (for concrete, granular materials, and asphalt) and coordinate with Engineering for specialist inspections.
- Observe site activities for apparent health and safety concerns and report observed concerns in accordance with CIMA+ and project procedures, while recognizing that responsibility for construction means, methods, procedures and site safety remains with the Contractor.
- Liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as required
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated construction inspection experience on municipal infrastructure projects with significant experience with water/wastewater treatment plants and/or pumping stations inspecting process mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls installations.
- Strong ability to interpret drawings, specifications, shop drawings and other Contract Documents.
- Strong written documentation and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Ontario construction practices and applicable health and safety requirements.
- Valid Ontario Class G driver's license in good standing and access to a personal vehicle.
- C.E.T., C.Tech., EIT or other relevant professional designation.
