We are a fast-growing, data-driven e-commerce company hiring a full time Conversion Rate Optimization Specialist to own and improve our website testing program.

This is not a role where you simply recommend ideas and hand them to someone else. We need someone who can identify conversion opportunities, develop data-backed hypotheses, prioritize tests, execute changes, analyze the results, and determine what we should test next.

You will create and manage our CRO testing calendar across product pages, landing pages, advertorials, cart, checkout, upsells, and other key customer touchpoints.

If you understand consumer psychology, can write persuasive conversion-focused copy, and know how to turn data into practical website improvements, you will thrive in this role.

What You’ll Do

- Own the CRO Testing Roadmap: Create and maintain a structured calendar of tests across our websites and funnels.

- Analyze Customer Behavior: Use analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, surveys, reviews, support tickets, and funnel data to identify friction and conversion opportunities.

- Develop Test Hypotheses: Turn insights into specific hypotheses that explain the problem, proposed solution, expected impact, and success metrics.

- Prioritize Opportunities: Rank tests based on potential impact, available evidence, traffic requirements, implementation effort, and company priorities.

- Execute Tests: Build and launch test variations using Shopify page builders, A/B testing platforms, and light HTML, CSS, or JavaScript when needed.

- Write Conversion-Focused Copy: Improve headlines, product positioning, benefit copy, offers, calls to action, guarantees, FAQs, comparison sections, and objection-handling content.

- Analyze Results: Monitor test performance, determine whether the results are meaningful, and recommend whether to implement, iterate, or discontinue each variation.

- Build From Previous Learnings: Maintain a clear record of every test so future experiments build on accumulated evidence instead of starting from assumptions.

- Improve the Full Customer Journey: Identify opportunities across acquisition, landing pages, product pages, cart, checkout, upsells, and post-purchase experiences.

- Work Across Departments: Collaborate with creative, development, retention,

and leadership to turn customer insights into stronger experiences and offers.

- Communicate Clearly: Present testing plans, results, insights, and recommendations in a way the entire team can understand and act on.

Our CRO and E-Commerce Stack You do not need deep expertise in every tool, but familiarity across this type of stack is preferred:

- E-Commerce: Shopify Plus, GemPages, Recharge, Klaviyo, and third-party Shopify applications.

- Analytics: GA4, Triple Whale, Shopify Analytics, Google Sheets, and Looker Studio.

- Behavioral Research: Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, heatmaps, session recordings, customer surveys, reviews, and support-ticket analysis.

- Testing and Execution: Shopify-compatible A/B testing platforms, landing-page builders, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.

- Project Management: Monday.com, Notion, Asana, or similar platforms.

- AI Tools: ChatGPT, Claude, and other AI-assisted research, copywriting, and analysis tools.

Who This Is For

- You understand CRO strategy: You can move from data and customer research to a clear hypothesis, test plan, execution, analysis, and next step.

- You can execute: You are comfortable building test variations yourself and do not need to send every change to a developer.

- You are data-driven: You use evidence to decide what to test and understand that a strong CRO program is built through cumulative learning.

- You understand direct-response copywriting: You can clarify value propositions, strengthen offers, address objections, and write copy designed to convert.

- You understand consumer psychology: You know how motivation, trust, perceived risk, urgency, proof, clarity, and friction influence purchasing decisions.

- You can interpret test results: You understand core e-commerce metrics and can distinguish useful findings from noise or premature conclusions.

- You are highly organized: You can manage a testing calendar, maintain an experiment backlog, document results, and keep tests launching consistently.

- You are commercially focused: You care about conversion rate, revenue per visitor,

average order value, contribution margin, and customer quality.

- You communicate clearly: You can explain what is being tested, why it matters, what happened, and what the company should do next.

- You use AI effectively: You use AI tools to accelerate research, execution, analysis, and copy development while applying your own judgment and quality control.

- You want a long-term full-time role: You are looking for a consistent position where you can take ownership of CRO and grow with the company.

What Success Looks Like

- A clear, prioritized CRO testing calendar is maintained and consistently executed.
- Tests are supported by performance data, customer research, or previous experiment learnings.
- New experiments are launched consistently without unnecessary delays.
- Every completed test produces a documented result, insight, and recommended next action.
- Winning changes are implemented quickly and monitored after launch.

- Conversion rate, revenue per visitor, average order value, and overall funnel performance improve over time.

Not a Fit If

- You only provide recommendations and cannot execute or launch tests yourself.
- You rely on opinions, generic best practices, or competitor copying instead of customer and performance data.

- You are only a copywriter and are uncomfortable analyzing data or working inside Shopify.
- You are only a developer and do not understand customer psychology, offers, messaging, or conversion strategy.
- You treat each test as an isolated project instead of building a connected system of insights and follow-up experiments.

- You struggle to maintain documentation, manage timelines, or follow a consistent testing calendar.
- You are looking for a part-time position or short-term freelance projects.

How to Apply

Please send us

1. A brief explanation of a CRO test you strategized and executed, including the data or research that inspired it, your hypothesis, what you changed, and the result.

2. An example of a testing roadmap, CRO audit, experiment report, landing page, or conversion-focused copy you created.
3. The tools you have used for analytics, behavioral research, A/B testing, and Shopify page execution.
4. Your compensation expectations and availability.

5. In three to five sentences, explain how you would decide what to test first on a high-traffic Shopify product page with a below-target conversion rate.
