Our full-day child care centre in Caledonia is seeking a dedicated and caring Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) or someone with a strong background in child care to join our team.

Hours: 25 hours a week (additional hours may be available)

Wage: $21.10 to $26.61 depending on qualifications

About the Role:

The Morning Float Educator supports the daily operations of the child care centre by providing coverage and assistance in classrooms throughout the morning. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the RECEs and other educators to ensure children receive responsive, engaging, and nurturing care in a safe and inclusive environment.

The Morning Float Educator may support different classrooms as needed and will assist with transitions, routines, programming, supervision, and the overall well-being of the children.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide warm, responsive, and engaging care to children in accordance with the centre's philosophy, policies, and procedures.
- Float between classrooms to provide staff coverage and support as required.
- Assist educators with morning routines, including arrival, transitions, toileting, handwashing, meals, and rest preparations.
- Support educators in implementing age-appropriate activities and experiences that encourage children's learning, development, and exploration.
- Engage positively with children through play, conversation, and meaningful interactions.
- Maintain active supervision of children at all times and follow all health and safety procedures.
- Support a welcoming and inclusive environment where every child feels valued, respected,



and supported.
- Assist with cleaning and sanitizing toys, equipment, and classroom areas as required.
- Work cooperatively and respectfully with educators, supervisors, families, and other team members.
- Follow the centre's policies, procedures, and requirements under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA).
- Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and staff.
- Complete other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Director.

Qualifications:

- RECE designation is an asset.
- Candidates with relevant experience working with children may also be considered.
- Previous experience in a licensed child care setting is an asset.
- Knowledge of child development and appropriate practices for young children.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, flexible, and willing to work in different classrooms as needed.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification is an asset/required as applicable.
- Vulnerable Sector Check and other required screening and documentation must be provided in accordance with centre requirements.
- Must be 18 years of age or older

Additional Requirements:

- Valid First Aid & CPR-C certification
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
