Hiring: Senior AWS Data Engineer – GA4 Silver/Gold Layer

Location: Remote – Eastern Time

Contract: 12 weeks initially, with strong potential for extension

We’re looking for a hands-on Senior AWS Data Engineer to take raw GA4 clickstream data and build production-ready Silver and Gold data layers for BI, analytics, and AI/RAG use cases.

This is a delivery-focused role — you’ll be building production solutions, not prototypes.

What You’ll Do

- Build AWS data pipelines to transform raw GA4/GA360 clickstream data into clean, analytics-ready datasets.
- Flatten complex GA4 nested structures and arrays into queryable columnar tables.
- Design and build Silver and Gold data layers optimized for Tableau, Power BI, analytics, and AI/RAG.
- Build transformations using AWS Glue, Python and/or Matillion .
- Optimize Amazon Redshift performance using distribution keys, sort keys, workload management, and late-binding views.
- Implement PII security and role-based access controls using AWS Lake Formation.
- Perform data validation, reconciliation, quality checks, and lineage documentation.
- Take solutions from architecture through production deployment and handover .

Must-Have Experience
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience ,



with recent hands-on AWS production experience.
- Robust experience with AWS S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Redshift and Redshift Spectrum .
- Direct GA4 or GA360 experience working with event-level/clickstream exports and flattening nested data.
- Strong SQL and Python skills.
- Production experience with AWS Glue and/or Matillion .
- Strong experience building Bronze → Silver → Gold data architectures.
- Experience designing wide, denormalized, domain-focused datasets for BI/analytics rather than relying only on traditional dimensional/Kimball models.
- Advanced Redshift performance tuning experience.
- Experience implementing column-level PII security, data governance, RBAC, lineage and data-quality controls .

Nice to Have Experience with airline, travel or e-commerce clickstream data , dbt, Tableau/Power BI semantic layers, or feeding AI/RAG/vector-store solutions from curated Gold datasets would be an asset.

What Success Looks Like

Within the first 30 days, you’ll have a Silver data layer live for at least one business domain , populated from Bronze on schedule, with approved PII access controls and Redshift views actively supporting Tableau or Power BI reporting.
