About the Data Governance Specialist role

The Data Governance Specialist supports the organization's data governance program by facilitating data cleansing activities, coordinating data issue resolution, and helping develop and maintain data policies, standards, and governance resources. This role is responsible for tracking governance-related KPIs, SLAs, and task completion to ensure high-quality data and timely issue resolution.

The Data Governance Specialist contributes to ongoing data governance initiatives by maintaining key documentation, including data models, data dictionaries, and policies, while collaborating with stakeholders to promote data quality, consistency, and compliance across the organization. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Excel and D365 applications.

Additional Responsibilities

Facilitate data cleansing and data issue resolution

Assist in creation of data policies and standards

Maintaining and tracking completion of data governance issue resolution and tasks

Creating and maintaining resources such as data models, data dictionaries and data policies





- Assist in data governance tasks and initiatives

What do you need to be successful?

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Experience with Excel and Microsoft 365 products
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and track tasks to completion
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Interest in data quality, governance, and continuous improvement
- While a formal degree or diploma is preferred, we value practical experience and are open to considering candidates with equivalent experience in lieu of educational qualifications.

Would be an asset if you had: Experience with Visio, SharePoint, Microsoft PowerApps and Power Automate an asset

- Experience with D365 an asset
- Experience creating or maintaining data model documentation, data dictionaries, and governance documentation an asset
- Experience with retail categories or ecommerce categories an asset

Language competencies

- Bilingualism in both official languages is an asset, but not required

Work location: The Retail Operations Centre is located in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

The successful candidate must be based in New Brunswick, remote work is possible.

- Semi-regular travel for meetings and project work may be required.

Compensation information:

- $ 70,254 - $81,489
