Duties
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials, ensuring sterilization standards are met.
- Assist dentists during various procedures, including exams, cleanings, orthodontics, and pediatrics, providing support with precision and care.
- Manage patient flow by greeting patients, updating medical histories, and explaining procedures clearly to ensure comfort and understanding.
- Operate dental software systems such as Epic and Dentrix to schedule appointments, update patient records, and process billing efficiently.
- Take digital radiographs (CAD) and assist with other diagnostic imaging tasks to aid accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain inventory of dental supplies and equipment,
ensuring everything is ready for daily operations.
- Support administrative tasks such as answering phones as a dental receptionist, confirming appointments, and managing patient communications.
Experience
- Prior experience in dental assisting or related healthcare roles is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with dental software platforms like Epic or Dentrix enhances efficiency in managing patient records.
- Knowledge of orthodontics, pediatrics dentistry, and medical terminology is advantageous for supporting diverse treatments.
- Experience working with dental CAD (computer-aided design) tools or orthodontic appliances is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages and backgrounds.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and professionalism.
