We are seeking a casual Dental Assistant (DA) to join our KGM Community Dental Clinic. The DA is an enthusiastic, positive person who is motivated and compassionate. This position is perfect for new Dental Assistants or someone starting out in the field.

We are a low-stress, fully equipped office that helps low-income members of the community access dental care they may otherwise not be able to afford. This is a long-term position with no production pressures and the chance to provide a vital dental service in our community.

Key Responsibilities

- Model KGM values of Compassion, Integrity, Respect, Grace-led, & Transformation;
- Maintain an excellent relationship with all patients, volunteers, and employees by building bridges of friendship wherever possible while being observant of the Policy and Procedures of KGM;
- Chairside assisting the two dentists in the clinic:
- Responsible for opening the clinic in the morning,



closing the clinic at the end of the day and to carry out such duties as deemed necessary for the efficient running of the dental clinic; to be aware of and help maintain the state of all areas other than the operatories:
- Maintain and upkeep all operatories, instruments and sterilization areas to BCDA asepsis standards; be mindful of all aspects of cross contamination/infection control for the safety of staff and patients;
- Ensure equipment and instruments are maintained and serviced as required and indicated. To be aware and understand secure handling of all dental materials and materials procedures;
- Knowledge of Tracker Dental program would be an asset to assist reception for booking appointments in the absence of the Receptionist;
- To be aware of and seek support to remedy any deficiencies/issues in the clinic with the Clinic Manager.

Position Requirements

- Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records;
- Knowledge of Dental Clinic health and safety requirements or desire to be trained;
- Knowledge of general principles of dentistry;
- The ability to develop strong working relationships;
- Exhibits cultural sensitivity and competence, and demonstrates ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines, while performing tasks efficiently both independently and as a part of a dynamic culturally diverse team;
- Must be goal-oriented and able to perform independently, displaying initiative, and a strong sense of commitment and trust;
- This position is dependent on a Criminal Records Check (Vulnerable Sector).
