This is an exciting opportunity in the vibrant community of Grande Prairie. This 1.0 FTE RDI position encompasses the best of both worlds of adult homecare and pediatric rehabilitation. As a homecare dietitian you are responsible for providing nutrition care to clients and their families across all ages in their homes or supportive living facilities for a variety of concerns including but not limited to cancer, diabetes, wounds, malnutrition and enteral nutrition. This RDI position is also a key member of the pediatric rehabilitation team in Grande Prairie responsible for the direct nutrition care of infants and children with eating, feeding and swallowing problems. Nutrition care within this position will include optimizing growth and development using nutrition assessments and care plans based on established standards of care, practice protocols and guidelines in the areas of enteral support, oral supplementation and diet progressions. Description

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings.

Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

Preferred Qualifications

Completion of the Alberta Breastfeeding Course or equivalent.
