Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team and help deliver exceptional nutritional care to our residents.

The Dietary

Aide is an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team and is accountable for the provision of optimal resident services and continuous improvement activities of the long-term care home.

The Dietary

Aide will ensure alignment with all relevant regulations and/or legislative requirements, organizational standards and strategic initiatives while driving a positive work culture. Responsibilities

- Assist with meal preparation, plating, and serving to ensure timely delivery of nutritious food to residents
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean kitchen and dining area
- Support kitchen staff with food handling, cleaning, and sanitation tasks to uphold health standards
- Provide courteous customer service to residents during meal times, addressing their needs with kindness and professionalism
- Help with inventory management by receiving supplies and storing food items properly




- Ensure all food is prepared according to dietary restrictions and nutritional guidelines
- Maintain accurate documentation of food service activities and sanitation procedures

Requirements

- Prior experience in assisted living, LTC, hospital, or food industry settings is highly preferred
- Successful completion of an accredited Food Services Worker Program or currently enrolled and/or dietary experience and knowledge relevant to the position.
- Completion of Food Handling Certificate.
- Knowledge of dietary equipment, best practices and procedures.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow instructions in English.
- Ability to exercise tact and diplomacy when assisting residents, family members and visitors.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong relationship building abilities are required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Point Click Care and other computerized documentation systems, as required.
- Satisfactory vulnerable sector check and TB test.
- Has a passion to promote person-centered care and work with the senior population.
