Concord Projects is seeking a Director of People & Culture to align our people programs with business goals and support the company’s long-term growth. Reporting to the President & CEO, this role oversees talent management, organizational development, workplace culture, and compliance, while building strong relationships with the management team and delivering responsive, well-executed employee programs and services.
The Director of People and Culture will focus primarily on the following items with the support of the People & Culture Coordinator.
Staffing & Talent Acquisition
- Work with department leaders on staffing requirements.
- Develop and implement a recruitment strategy ensuring recruitment and selection process results in a high-quality talent pool.
- Maintain an effective company-wide onboarding process for all new hires.
- Manage the co-op and internship program to recruit and develop new grad talent with key post-secondary institutions.
Talent Management & Performance
- Develop retention programs and strategies to ensure retention via learning, workforce development and career pathways.
- Develop and manage the internal learning program, The Concord Way, to develop and deliver new content and manage the program long-term.
- Manage the employee milestone anniversaries and recognition programs.
- Assist department leaders to identify performance gaps and recommend solutions.
- Lead employee relations process with managers and provide supports.
Culture
- Lead the employee Culture Committee by setting direction, contributing to plans and organizing events.
- Ensure company policies and practices are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
Total Rewards
- Manage the total rewards program to align compensation, benefits and perks to organizational goals.
- Manage the group benefits and retirement savings programs cost effectively for all plan members.
- Oversee the employee Wellness Incentive program. Review and approve all claims prior to payment.
- Create an annual total compensation statement for all employees.
- Assist Vice-President, Accounting & Finance with bi-weekly payroll processing and contribute to the payroll platform decision making.
- Manage leaves of absence and oversee return to work program.
Labour Relations
- Interpret, apply and administer collective bargaining agreement to ensure compliance.
- Lead investigations, dispute resolutions and other formal process preparations and documentation.
Our next teammate has:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, industrial relations, or a related discipline. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in human resources management including talent acquisition and management, organizational development, benefits administration, management development, employee engagement and workplace culture.
- Thorough understanding of Manitoba employment, labour, human rights, and workplace safety legislation, including some experience within a unionized environment and the Construction Industry Wages Act.
- Chartered Skilled in Human Resources (CPHR) designation considered an asset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to connect all levels of staff to values and culture.
- High emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and professionalism.
- Demonstrated experience building engaging and client-centric workplace culture.
- Knowledge of HRIS systems, experience with Payworks software an asset.

Pay: $90,000.00-$110,000.00 per year
