The Role
This role is the senior Solution Marketing leader for Kyndryl’s modernization portfolio, who will lead work and teams spanning the infrastructure and applications propositions and stakeholders.
The Leader works with their respective team members to ensure foundational positioning and messaging artifacts (e.g. positioning playbooks) are current, grounded in primary buyer insight, and carried through into enablement, demand-gen and reputation activities.
The Leader owns the top agentic modernization positioning and message: the connective through-line that anchors in what makes Kyndryl’s capabilities relevant and uniquely positioned, and ties propositions into one coherent story. The Leader also owns the app-led modernization story, with a dedicated team responsible for it, and partners closely with Kyndryl’s Revenue Marketing leader for modernization. Activity across top-level modernization and apps must be negotiated and balanced against business and marketing needs, and necessary message hygiene.
Key Responsibilities
Solution Marketing Foundations Across the Portfolio
- Ensure every proposition has its core Solution Marketing assets — buyer journeys, message houses, positioning, playbooks and proof points — built to a consistent standard and grounded in primary buyer insight (win-loss, voice of the customer, field feedback), not internal assertion.
- Set priorities, quality bar and drive rigor in how value propositions are applied — pushes back where what’s going out isn’t a defensible Kyndryl value proposition.
Team Leadership & Capacity Management
- Lead and develop the modernization Solution Marketing team, which includes the proposition and practice-facing teams.
- Balance capacity against uneven demand and marketing strategy needs — flexing people between spikes in top-of-portfolio narrative work, steady foundational work and business stakeholder asks.
Modernization Narratives & Connected Messaging
- Develops and owns the top modernization message — the canonical through-line connecting propositions that lands as part of the whole.
- Leads team that owns the app-led modernization story end to end
- Develop and validate positioning with analysts, the field, and senior stakeholders.
Prioritization & Revenue Marketing Partnership
- Partner with the modernization Revenue Marketing leader on prioritization — what gets built, in what order, and what gets activated.
- Bring the customer, positioning and buyer-dynamics lens to campaign decisions
Stakeholder Engagement & Business Alignment
- Serve as the senior Solution Marketing partner to modernization business leadership.
- Understand where the business is focused and what’s coming, so messaging stays ahead of the roadmap.
- Hold the senior relationships and alignment while direct reports carry much of the day-to-day stakeholder engagement.
Key Success Metrics
Within the first six months the Leader should demonstrate:
- Foundations in place: updated buyer journeys, message houses and playbooks across propositions, actively carried into enablement, demand gen and thought leadership motions.
- A connected story: the top modernization message connected and aligned to each proposition narrative, in live use in customer conversations, and backed by credible proof points.
- Prioritization discipline: a working prioritization model with Revenue Marketing, and demand balanced across the team.
- Stakeholder trust: recognized by modernization leadership as the go-to Solution Marketing partner, measured by demand for the role’s input.
- A live feedback loop: win-loss, field input and campaign performance return on a set rhythm and visibly change the messaging, with revisions traceable to buyer evidence rather than opinion.
By twelve months:
- Adoption at scale: the modernization narrative and key messages are the default source for campaign, enablement, partner and analyst content.
Message in the deals that matter: the modernization story is in active use in top pursuits.
Who You Are
You are a senior and experienced marketer who can hold a top-line narrative and the foundations beneath it at the same time. You are a strong people manager, comfortable flexing a team against uneven demand and making the prioritization calls that come with it. You are credible with senior business stakeholders and analysts, and you build authority through the quality of your thinking and your ability to align people who don’t report to you.
Required Skills and Experience
- Extensive experience in solution, product or portfolio marketing in a B2B technology or services context.
- Proven experience managing and developing marketing teams, including senior individual contributors,
and balancing competing priorities across them.
- A track record building core positioning and messaging artifacts grounded in customer insight.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with senior business stakeholders and analysts, and to build alignment across functions without direct authority.
