Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join our transportation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating freight movements, communicating with drivers and customers, planning routes, and ensuring shipments are handled efficiently and on schedule.

The ideal candidate must have at least 1 year of Dispatch experience in the transportation industry and have strong knowledge of U.S. transportation routes, particularly the Midwest and California regions.

This is a fast-paced position that requires excellent communication, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to make quick decisions while managing multiple shipments and drivers.

Responsibilities

- Dispatch and coordinate drivers and freight shipments efficiently and on time.
- Plan and monitor routes across the United States, with a strong focus on Midwest and California routes.
- Communicate regularly with drivers, customers, brokers, carriers, and other transportation partners.
- Monitor driver locations, shipment status, pickup and delivery appointments, and estimated arrival times.
- Coordinate pickup and delivery schedules and make adjustments when delays or unexpected issues occur.
- Handle dispatch-related documentation, including bills of lading, delivery receipts, and shipment information.
- Enter and maintain accurate shipment, driver, and load information in dispatch and transportation management systems.
- Track shipments and follow up with drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
- Resolve transportation issues quickly and communicate updates to customers and management.
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, delays, incidents, and communications.




- Ensure dispatch operations are conducted efficiently and in accordance with company policies.
- Work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple drivers, loads, and priorities.

Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in trucking, transportation, freight, or logistics dispatching is required.
- Robust knowledge of U.S. Midwest routes and major markets is required.
- Solid understanding of U.S. trucking operations, freight movement, and pickup/delivery procedures.
- Ability to efficiently plan and optimize routes based on driver location, load requirements, and delivery schedules.
- Familiarity with ELD/GPS tracking systems (such as Samsara) and a basic understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work professionally with drivers, brokers, customers, and carriers.
- Comfortable using computers, email, multi-line phone systems, and dispatch/logistics software.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple loads, drivers, and priorities simultaneously.
- Reliable, punctual, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently in a fast-paced environment.

Education

- Bachelor's degree preferred..
